Montchavin la Plagne (1,250 metres)

Children on family ski holiday in la Plagne Montchavin la Plagne is based on an old farming village and as you ski down to one of several delightful restaurants you will ski through the village orchard: certainly a contrast to many more modern resorts including many of the other villages of la Plagne. Montchavin at 1,250 metres is the lowest of the la Plagne villages. It is north-facing and has a number of snow-making machines: it should be possible to ski down to the village until the end of March or even into April.

Ski & Snowboard Access: There are rarely any queues for the ski lifts out of Montchavin. There are occasional bottlenecks further up the mountain although these have been almost eliminated in the last few years: there has been a huge level of investment to compliment the Vanoise Express cable car. This cable car is just above Montchavin and arrives in Plan Peisey les Arcs to link la Plagne with les Arcs to form the combined Paradiski ski area.
See our unique piste guide for more details of all the skiing in Montchavin la Plagne.
